ASD non corporate members will have received a voting form from Election Buddy to allow you to vote in our Name Change Vote. The Vote will be open for two weeks until the 13th October. Based on data from the Name Change initial vote of 2022 and the 2023 Membership Survey, we have determined there are around 450 members who actively participate in the ASD.
This is half of the total membership of the association.
Given this finding, the Name Change final vote of 2023 will only become viable if 450 members take part.
A positive vote for actioning Name Change will occur if half of these votes (225) are in favour. This represents one quarter of the total membership of the ASD.
The vote will contain two questions:
- Do you want to change the name of the ASD? (Yes/No)
- If the name were to change, which name would you prefer? (3 options for alternative names given)
Options for alternative names have been collected from the membership during the 2022/23 Name Change Survey and consultation process. The three options given have been shortlisted through a formal vote by the ASD Board.
Once the vote is closed we will announce the results.
